Security Issues with UC Bowser has leaked.

UC browser is one of the most used web browsers in the smartphone world. It all started in 2004 when UC launched its first Java web browser and now its spread in every platform. It is the fourth web browser in the world behind likes of Google Chrome with 234 million active users in 2014. Recently e-commerce giant Alibaba acquired UCweb Inc and released a joint mobile search service Shenma. With all the success, UCweb had great years until recent Security issues which claimed UC browser leaked users data in particular English UC browser version.

Citizen Lab, a Canadian  research team found that Chinese and English version leaked certain data which are confidential. Research firm conducted certain test model on UC browser and found some issues,

1.User data, MAC address, Android ID, IMEI number were shared.
2.Search results were also sent to Shenma a mobile search service which belongs to Alibaba Group which operate in China.

Alibaba Spokesman Bob Christie said," Problems found by Citizen Lab were immediately fixed and an update has been given to users".

He also said," We take security very seriously and we do anything to protect our users data".
